Dr. Walker is the Division Chair of Sport Management and Associate Department Head of HLKN. His research and scholarly interests reside (generally) in the field of Organizational Theory but are more specifically focused on social and environmental responsibility, citizenship behaviors, sport-for-development, and philanthropic practices of organizations in the sport industry. In addition to these areas, Dr. Walker has been involved with numerous projects (and consultations) dealing with program evaluations, and the social impact of sport.

Dr. Walker is a "Research Fellow" for the North American Society for Sport Management (NASSM), and for the Society of Health and Physical Educators (SHAPE). He is the Managing Editor for the Journal of Applied Sport Management (JASM) and the Associate Editor for Sport Marketing Quarterly (SMQ).
