Short Bio
Dr. Nancy Watson received her Ph.D. in Educational Psychology from Texas A&M University in 1998. Dr. Watson joined the Department of Educational Administration and Human Resource Development in 2014 as a Clinical Associate Professor moving from the Department of Educational Psychology where she was an Instruction Associate Professor since 2009. Dr. Watson was a 50% time Director (2008-2011) and then Assistant Dean for Organizational Development and Diversity Initiative in the College of Education and Human Development (2011-2015). Dr. Watson teaches graduate and undergraduate courses in conflict management and dialogue. She developed both courses over the past 18 months. Dr. Watson writes and practices predominately in the area of conflict management and engagement. Dr. Watson works 30% time in her faculty role teaching and providing service in her leadership role for the ELRC Summer Leadership Institute. Dr. Watson recently published (2016) a book on Conflict Management and Dialogue in Higher Education. Dr. Watson is a regular presenter and facilitator in conflict management, change, diversity and teaming and leadership. Dr. Watson works 25% time as a Director for Climate Enhancement Initiatives for the Texas A&M Office for Diversity.
