Short Bio
Mike Greenwood Ph.D., is currently a Full Clinical Professor in the Department of Health and Kinesiology and the Food & Nutrition Science Department at Texas A & M University. In addition to a variety of teaching and research responsibilities, Mike also serves as a Research Associate for the Exercise & Sport Nutrition Laboratory located within the Human Clinical Research Facility in College Station. Over the past 32 years, Mike has served as a Departmental Graduate Director, Graduate Academic Director for Strength & Conditioning, Graduate Research Coordinator as well as the PhD Director primarily involved with the Institute for Exercise, Nutrition & Preventive Health. Mike is a Fellow of the International Society of Sport Nutrition [ISSN], National Strength & Conditioning Association [NSCA] and American College of Sport Medicine [ACSM]. Dr. Greenwood is certified as strength & conditioning specialist recognized with distinction by the NSCA and has previously served as a NCAA collegiate baseball and basketball coach as well as a collegiate strength training and conditioning professional. Mike currently serves on the Advisory Board of ISSN and his primary lines of research are in the areas of sport/exercise nutrition and strength and conditioning with over 180 journal and book chapter publications. Dr. Greenwood serves on the Editorial Boards for the Strength and Conditioning Journal, the Journal of Strength & Conditioning Research as well as the Journal of the International Society of Sports Nutrition. In 2003, Mike received the Educator of The Year Award from the National Strength & Conditioning Association and in 2005 was honored as the Sunshine State Conference NCAA Baseball Coach of The Year.
