Short Bio
Native of Memphis, Tennessee. Have lived in/visited 41 states and 14 foreign countries/territories. Have a Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Education from Baylor University, Master of Education degree in Sport Administration from Ohio University, Certificate in Accounting and Master of Science degree in Taxation from the University of Baltimore and a Ph.D. in Higher Education Administration from Texas A&M University. Also took some post-doc work at Baylor University Law School. Was a Captain in the US Army (Sports Officer for US Army Southern Command), Administrative Assistant for the Naval Academy Athletic Association, Revenue Agent for the IRS, and Professor at Baylor University where I taught for 28 years and created and directed the sport management program. Retired Professor Emeritus at Baylor. Co-authored 3 books (working on number 4), 8 book chapters, 30 articles, and have given over 65 presentations at international, national, district and state conferences. Own one share of stock in the Green Bay Packers football team. Am a voting member of the Texas Sports Hall of Fame. Member of Kappa Delta Pi, Omicron Delta Kappa, and Phi Delta Kappa. Member of the Sport and Recreation Law Association and the Sport Lawyers Association as a sport law educator. Have taught Sport Management, Sport Law, Sport Marketing, Facility Management, Risk Management, Sport Finance and Event Management at TAMU.
