ELIZABETH ROUMELL

Dr. Elizabeth Roumell received her Ph.D. in Education from the University of Wyoming in 2009. Dr. Roumell joined the Education Administration and Human Resource Development department at as an Assistant Professor in 2016 and is now a tenured Associate Professor, Associate EAHR Department Head for Academic Affairs, and the Executive Director of the Texas Center for the Advancement of Literacy and Learning (TCALL). Dr. Roumell teaches graduate courses in adult learning, human resource development, and qualitative research. Dr. Roumell's research focuses on adult learning and identity development, supervising and mentoring graduate research, and education policy analysis. She has written 30 peer-reviewed journal articles, 12 book chapters, and is also co-editor of the 2021 book "Advancing the Global Agenda for Human Rights, Vulnerable Populations, and Environmental Sustainability: Adult Education as Strategic Partner." Dr. Roumell has served as PI or Co-PI for over $7 million in external grants. Dr. Roumell received the 2013 Early Career Award from the national Commission of Professors of Adult Education (CPAE) of the American Association for Adult and Continuing Education, the 2017 Early Career Award from NRMERA, and the 2020 Imogene Oaks annual Award for Outstanding Research in Adult Education through the American Association for Adult and Continuing Education (AAACE).
